Big beer companies have made numerous attempts to stymie the craft revolution, or at least appeal to younger, dare we say more educated palates. Though most of these gimmicks fall flat (or really, really piss people off), Bud Light’s latest innovation is something of a show stopper.
Bud Light recently teamed up with traveling electronic music festival Mad Decent Block Party to produce a series of badass limited edition cans. Says a press release, Bud Light created 31 designs — four Mad Decent custom labels and 27 designed by artists — that were then mixed, mashed and reconfigured, so that no two cans look exactly alike.
But there’s only one way to get your hands on a technicolor can — by actually going to Mad Decent Block Party.
The event returns to the Woodall Rodgers underpass near club Zouk in Dallas on Saturday, Aug. 22 to the tune of DJs Skrillex, Borgore, Bro Safari and more. If you’re unfamiliar, Mad Decent is a day-long rave featuring artists from the Diplo-founded Mad Decent record label as well as other influential acts in the EDM genre.
